Hospitality industry and travel and tourism have been among the major employment oriented sectors in the country. Since each of these industries has a dynamic nature there is immense scope for job opportunities. Over the last few years, due to the pandemic, hotels had to bid goodbye to several of their employees, but as the industry, slowly and gradually, is returning back to normalcy the market for jobs within the industry is progressing steadily.
However, since hospitality industry is based on the relationship that is established and shared between the host who provides different services to its consumers in return for goodwill for the establishment, the employees have to have expertise in different fields.
Shreya Khati, Director HR, Signum Hotels and Resorts, Faridabad, commenting on the joblessness in the industry receding says, "Hospitality industry is still under a recovery stage. Hence, job loss percentage has reduced." But she is optimistic about the future prospects as human resources are required to run the business.
