TRANSFORMING BUILDINGS INTO HIGH-PERFORMING ASSETS

Climate change, resource scarcity, rapid urbanization, digitalization - are amongst the many megatrends that are reshaping our world.
TRANSFORMING BUILDINGS INTO HIGH-PERFORMING ASSETS

With the addition of a global pandemic over the past two years, the way buildings are used has also changed.

Buildings need to evolve to ensure that they are not only comfortable, safe, and secure, but also efficient and resilient for a sustainable future. Every building starts at a different point on the sustainability journey - this creates unique sets of efficiency challenges and opportunities, when it comes to building operation and maintenance.

Challenges impacting building operation and maintenance

The pressure to improve building's performance has never been greater. Nowadays, building owners and operators face increased regulatory requirements, due to the need to achieve carbon-neutrality and sustainability goals. With rising operating costs from inflation and lack of resources, budgets are tighter. Many buildings also have aging equipment or assets, and differing systems or inconsistent operations across multiple facilities, further making maintenance inefficient.

Building operators are also experiencing staffing issues and a shrinking skilled workforce. Service teams, which are meant to improve operations, are now servicing additional space and addressing complaints or faults. This can lead to deferred maintenance, contributing to poor building performance.
