SOARING NEW HEIGHTS - A RECAP OF ALL RECENT HAPPENINGS IN THE INDIAN AVIATION INDUSTRY

The global aviation industry has been weighed down by crippling effects of the relentless Covid-19 pandemic for the last two years. The stalwarts of the industry who once dominated the airspace, came down like a pack of cards and had to halt all operations, almost overnight. From there began an unprecedented dark hour for the aviation industry, who had no idea how long it would be until they saw the skies lit up with air traffic, once again. As the world moved into 2022 taking hesitant steps into an unpredictable future, the bleakness and uncertainty seemed to fade a little. A new dawn ushered in renewed hope, tough learnings and steadfast resilience.

The year 2022, has given the Indian aviation market an unfettered and unrestricted approach to the future, as it forges unparalleled heights on global maps, to become the third largest civil aviation market by 2024. This prediction made by the aviation pundits, is a game changer for India, which is on the precipice of gigantic growth. The Indian Civil Aviation minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia in an interactive session in New York said "I think the time is ripe for participation in probably the largest possible manner in the area of civil aviation and I think all international airlines can sense the opportunity and potential"

Many countries which were economically devastated by Covid-19 have re-opened their borders to tourists and business travellers, in the hope of mitigating the adverse and crushing effects of the pandemic. An optimistic prediction for the global airlines market is that it is expected to reach a staggering $744 billion by 2026.
