CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN on the new $4.2 billion Terminal 6 at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), which will serve as the primary home of low-cost airline JetBlue. The 1.2-million-square-foot terminal will be located on the north side of the airport, on the site of the former Terminal 6 and existing Terminal 7, which will be demolished in 2026 as construction progresses.

When fully complete in 2028, the new Terminal 6 will add ten new gates to JFK, including nine for wide-body planes. It will also connect seamlessly with the existing Terminal 5, JetBlue’s current base in the airport, and enable the carrier to add more flights, destinations and airline partnerships.
