Lively start for ARC rally

Over 800 crew are taking part in this year’s transatlantic rally, on board a diverse fleet of monohulls, multihulls and one motorboat, with established tradewinds forecast for a classic crossing on the 2,700mile sail to Saint Lucia.

Two weeks previously the 10th ARC+ had also cast off from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with 89 yachts (and again, one motorboat) and over 400 crew heading to Grenada via the Cape Verdes. The ARC+ is celebrating its 10th edition and slipped lines on 9 November.
