Florida's 2022 Python Challenge
Airboating Magazine|September - October 2022
The 2022 Florida Python Challenge is a 10-day competition to remove as many Burmese pythons as possible from Florida's public lands.

Florida's 2022 Python Challenge

The Challenge is a partnership between the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The event raises public awareness of Burmese pythons in Florida and the threat this invasive species poses to the Everglades. The event began at 8 AM, August 5, and ended at 5 PM, August 14.

This year there were more than 850 registered hunters from 32 states and Canada working to remove the ophidians while vying for the $10,000 Ultimate Grand Prize for the most removed. There are additional prizes for the longest and most in both the professional and novice categories of hunters.
