Suzuki being one of the most prolific AWD champions, it is amazing that over its 40-year run in India, have never offered a single AWD car (not talking about 4x4 SUVs here), despite starting their Indian innings in the same year as the Fiat Panda 4x4, i.e. 1983. Every Suzuki ever sold in India had an AWD counterpart somewhere else in the world.</p>

<p>While most people prefer SUVs for their space, quite a few want them for higher ground clearances, and a lifted hatchback with AWD will likely be a more affordable option to produce, purchase and maintain.
