2023 Curtiss One
Based in Leeds, Alabama, Curtiss has begun production of the Curtiss One, its luxury electric motorcycle formally unveiled two years ago, which has essentially pointed EV motorcycle design in a new direction. Costing a hefty $120,000, the price includes one free battery upgrade, as well as full factory vehicle servicing during the first seven years of ownership, at a time of the customer’s choosing, to allow owners of the One to benefit from the resolutely breakneck pace of electric EVolution. Curtiss also offers an optional Future Proof Package delivering further battery upgrades at five-year intervals. This is a bike aimed at long-term ownership.
Curtiss Motorcycle Co. created shockwaves when the company rebranded itself in 2018 as an all-electric luxury motorcycle manufacturer, marking a significant shift away from its original aircraft-inspired Hellcat, Fighter and Bomber ICE product lines of the past. In its previous 25-year incarnation under the Confederate Motors label, Curtiss built a total of 1,300 outrageously unconventional V-twin powercruisers, serving a discerning clientele which included numerous members of Hollywood’s elite. The change came while assuming the mantle of early 20th century American motorcycle and aviation pioneer, Glenn H. Curtiss, thanks to Confederate boss Matt Chambers’ foresight in acquiring the rights to the Curtiss motorcycle brand in 2011.
