In the high and far-off times before Brexit, popping over to France was easy-peasy and something I greatly enjoyed as a summer day trip. Now it is harder and slower, but I think still doable if you pick your time slot carefully. I live in West Norfolk, 180 miles from the Chunnel terminal, but most of what I suggest could probably be enjoyed in a day by anyone within a 200-mile radius. If you live further afield an overnight or weekend break may be necessary, but there's still an awful lot to explore without straying far from Calais. All too often we simply pass through this part of Northern France on the way to the south. In doing so we miss a lot. So this is not a trip story so much as a list of places to visit and things to see which may tempt you there is much else I will have missed.
