HERE'S proof that Fiat is planning to add a second all-electric vehicle to its line-up in the near future: a new zero-emissions 500 SUV caught undergoing tests.
Originally scooped by Auto Express almost two years ago (Issue 1,627), the new model is designed to ultimately replace both the combustion-engined 500X and 500L. We referenced it in 2020 as the '500XL' but it has emerged more recently that the car will probably carry the Fiat 600 name.
The spy shots reveal that the 600 will draw far more on the SUV styling cues of the 500X than the semi-MPV profile of the 500L. There's a jacked-up look-albeit one that also clearly references the current 500, including the use of a similar tail-light signature and a taller rear roofline. It's a longer vehicle overall too, of course, allowing a second pair of doors and a slightly extended rear overhang to boost the 600's practicality.
