Cure for love
Pazzage|January 2023
Could one possibly be delirious enough to ever want to be cured of something as divine as love?
CHANDNI S
Cure for love

It is in the throes of passion that the world looks it's enigmatic best, a beauty that the greatest catastrophe can't mar! No mountain high enough, no valley low enough, no river wide enough... to quote Marvin Gaye, is a feeling, all too familiar for every 'newly in love'; for such is the power of this disease. The energy, vigour and even sense of power that comes with love cannot just be dismissed as a temporary imbalance of neurochemicals and hormones.

And yet, these very same hormones have mysterious ways, if not mischievous in wrecking the same effects that they once were guilty of. At the risk of sounding like a surgeon attempting a sterile dissection and biopsy of a malignant carcinoma, how does it work? The 'trap', the 'fall' and the 'cure'? While some seem to manage to seamlessly fall in and out and recover like nothing has happened, it's the others who suffer a greater fall, who seem to need the ultimate cure. The process is elaborate; there is cheering and encouraging too, ironically most from the ones who have gone through it themselves.

Mind Your Mind!

In fact, it can be incredibly empowering. It's perfectly acceptable for a woman to be the primary caregiver in the home while her husband is out working, just as it's okay for a man to be a stay-at-home parent and take a break from work.
