What took you to a career in the creative industry?
AP: My entry into this industry has been completely by chance. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time. After graduating, I was a confused kid trying to figure what I wanted to do with my life. During this time my friend asked me if I wanted to intern at MTV India. Seeing as I was not doing anything constructive with my life, I said yes. I joined the video production team and learnt the ropes of shooting, editing and everything in between. After interning for about a year I decided this was not what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, so I was going to quit. However, I would constantly be sketching and illustrating in my free time, and the design team of MTV noticed this and told me to intern with them for a bit. And the rest is history - as soon as I started I realized this was IT. I am completely self-taught in design and illustration and I learnt all there is to know about this field during my time there. I grew in the ranks, won multiple awards and then moved on to pursue life as an independent artist. I remain very grateful that they took that chance on me.
