Tips To Take Care Of Your Teeth

A country's future is dictated by the care given to the young. When I read this sentence, I remembered the lack of care our children's teeth are suffering from.

We take so much care to maintain a beautiful face, but the importance of healthy teeth and a healthy mouth in beauty is usually underestimated.

Properly aligned, clean teeth can convert a dull grin into a captivating smile. My heart bleeds on witnessing a smile marred by decayed, half-destroyed, blackened teeth.

Parents do not care much for their children's teeth, since they think that they are only milk teeth. They will, after all, fall off and the child will get a second, nice set of permanent teeth. This belief is harmful for kids. The milk teeth, or the deciduous teeth, are very important for a child's physical health and psychological development.

Each milk tooth is destined to serve a particular period in the mouth, till its permanent successor erupts to take its place.

If one milk tooth is lost at a much earlier age, there will be loss of space due to the movement of adjacent teeth and crowding will result in the permanent dentition.

Crowded teeth affect facial beauty. They also cause gum disease because of the difficulty in brushing them properly. Thanks to advancement in dentistry, correction of maligned teeth is now possible, irrespective of the patient's age.

If numerous back teeth are badly destroyed, the child will not be able chew his food properly, leading to digestive problems and underdeveloped or small jaws.

When a child's dental condition is ridiculed by his peers, it can seriously affect his personality development. Absence of front teeth can also affect his speech.
