Women, in general, do a very clever act of balancing career and home. They work hard and long and make many sacrifices and compromises. Not only are such women smart, articulate and intelligent themselves, but their children too grow up without too much pampering. They tend to be independent, resourceful and mature.
Compared to the lifestyle of an average upper-middle-class family a couple of decades ago, today there's a sea of change. Mostly, because the women themselves have changed. In her quest for emancipation, have today's women short-shifted the art of homemaking? Do modern women consider homemaking monotonous, unchallenging, of no value and thus dispensable? Have women stopped enjoying homemaking?
Family And Happiness
A thriving home is a hub of the family, it is a sanctuary, a place to rest, relax and recharge. The atmosphere affects the members' minds, attitudes and efficiency. Homemaking, directly and strongly, affects the happiness, well-being and success of the family. Therefore, homemaking is an extremely vital activity. Children from secure and happy homes are physically and emotionally healthy, while those from dysfunctional homes (squabbling parents, drunken fathers and neglectful mothers) lose their way in life and spiral downwards. Mere riches don't make good homes, proper homemaking skills of the wives and mothers do. Home is sacrosanct. It demands attention.
Happy Home
And none other than a wife or mother is solely equipped to hold the reins to create a happy, peaceful and secure home. This notion has undergone/is undergoing a revision, owing to a subtle change in the homemaking is no longer being considered worthy of attention. Tragically, for several women, homemaking has become infra dig.
