Controversy Surrounded By Women's Team T-20 Defeat

Mithali Raj came out in the open to criticise coach Ramesh Powar and it is not new to Indian cricket. Sourav Ganguly came in support of Mithali Raj in this episode and the defeat at the hands of England in the semifinal of T-20 World Cup did make the matter worse. How Mithali's letter get leaked to the media is a thousand dollar question.

The CoA member Diana Edulji went one step ahead to air her views supporting the dropping of the player and that made the matter still worse. It was the most inopportune time to express her views. She could have shown greater maturity and sensitivity considering that she was holding an important post in the set-up and kept the matter in a closed cover. She failed to restraint herself and realise that with great power comes great responsibility as well. Her shooting off her mouth in the first place was a huge error and it was compounded by the folks who facilitated the leaking of Mithali's letter. Diana Edulji should have held her horses just like BCCI officials did during the Navjot Singh Sidhu episode during an English tour. Thus cricket controversy surrounded Indian women's team T-20 World Cup defeat.
