Olivia Newton-John says she is “winning” – and in a big way! Despite being diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer in 2017, the Grease icon is celebrating another year with her beloved husband John Easterling by her side, while her relationship with daughter Chloe Lattanzi is stronger than ever.
In the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic, she told reporters, “I’m winning over it well and that’s how I see it,” adding that she has one powerful tool in living with her diagnosis.
“I don’t think about it a lot, to be honest. Denial is a really good thing, and I’m getting stronger and better all the time! I’m doing well!”
And the Australian star’s friends agree.
“Olivia feels very blessed that she’s still feeling great despite receiving the grim diagnosis of her cancer relapse a few years ago,” a source close to the 73-year-old tells Woman’s Day, adding that managing her pain with medicinal marijuana – thanks to her hubby, 69, and daughter, 35 – has helped the star hugely.
“She credits her vibrancy and happiness to John and his pioneering research into using plants as medicine. Without him, she feels she wouldn’t be living anywhere near such a high quality of life.”
