“Retiring was my biggest accomplishment, for sure,” grins the ex-Sydney Roosters player, 24. “People ask, ‘Why would you leave an NRL contract?’ But I wasn’t doing what I loved. I didn’t have free time and I missed family events. Now I’m my own boss and I don’t have a coach yelling at me!”
Currently a social media content creator for the Warriors, Samoan-born Johnny admits his dad wasn’t too pleased about the move, explaining, “Footie is all he’s known as a way to make money. It made more sense to him than social media.”
