Skincare gets personal

Unless you have a dermatologist degree under your belt, it’s likely that your knowledge about which active ingredients work best for your skin is limited to what you’ve read or what your beauty therapist tells you.

However, it seems that could all be about to change. Enter: personalised skincare. Whether it’s a treatment formulated specifically to fix breakouts or a supercharged serum to breathe new life into your skin, letting a professional perfect your skincare routine has never been so, well, easy. Here, we've answered the most important questions about personalised skincare, including where you can get your hands on your own.

WHAT IS PERSONALISED SKINCARE?

Forget your favourite retailers, personalised skincare is the way of the future. Tailored to your precise wants and needs, the concept behind it is exactly that – it’s prescribed for your skin and yours alone. After receiving your skin analysis, a team of experts – such as dermatologists, scientists and pharmacists – will request imagery of your skin and ask you to complete an online quiz about your complexion.

Once they have all the information, they create a specific batch that caters to (and hopefully improves) your complexion crisis. In doing so, the aim is that your skin is more likely to respond to the products and, over time, you will see a noticeable difference.
