Ranger Stacey: ‘I Had The World's Best Job!'

Could the jungle be calling after 29 years hosting Totally Wild?

She’s a superstar to generations of Aussie kids who know her as Ranger Stacey, yet lovable Brisbane mum Stacey Thomson never aspired to a TV career – and feels blessed to have had such a huge dream run.

“It really was the best job ever,” beams Stacey, who admits to a mixture of sadness at the end of her marathon run on Totally Wild, and excitement at what the future holds after the long-running Ten show was axed.

“I’d love to be on [I’m A] Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!,” reveals Stacey, 56, who fell in love with former Totally Wild cameraman Rob McCall, who she later married and had daughters, Bridget, 20, and Madi, 17, with.

“I’ve been putting my hand up for that show for the past four years but they think I’d be too comfortable in the jungle after all my years working with animals. But there are plenty of challenges I’d find confronting!”

The bubbly mum may however just get her wish with one casting agent telling Woman’s Day that I’m A Celeb producers would be mad not to sign her up immediately.

“She’s great TV, and millions of kids know and love her,” says the agent.
