MEET OUR MIRACLE GIRLS!

Kelsi and Kyle Pierce never imagined their journey to parenthood would be so different to most people’s.

After struggling with infertility for three years, the couple finally turned to surrogacy when Kelsi’s mum Lisa Rutherford volunteered to carry their baby.

Having been told the chances of conceiving naturally were near impossible, the couple saw surrogacy as their last resort, so you can imagine their surprise when shortly after Lisa fell pregnant, Kelsi discovered she was expecting, too!

“I frantically called my fertility doctor and he was extremely shocked,” says Kelsi. “He said this was a true miracle because scientifically, it shouldn’t have happened.”

DOUBLE THE JOY

Now, Kelsi and Kyle have two daughters, born seven weeks apart. Lisa, 54, gave birth to her granddaughter Everly, on October 1 last year. Arriving several weeks early, the tiny baby spent five days in the NICU before returning home to await the birth of her sibling.

Then on November 23, school teacher Kelsi delivered a healthy girl, Ava.

The miracle babies were long-awaited additions to the family for Kelsi, 31, and her husband, who tied the knot in 2016 and began trying for children straight away.

“Ever since I was little, I wanted to be a mum,” says Kelsi. “There was really nothing more that I wanted in life.”
