Little House On The Prairie star Karen Grassle has shocked fans of the beloved series by claiming things behind the scenes on the family show were downright hellish! The 79-year-old actress, who played matriarch “Ma” Caroline Ingalls on the drama, which ran for nine seasons from 1974 has accused onscreen husband, the late Michael Landon, of bullying her on set, mocking her body and making “disgusting” sex jokes.
In her upcoming memoir, Bright Lights, Prairie Dust: Reflections On Life, Loss And Love From Little House’s Ma, the actress claims while the actor – who died in 1991 from pancreatic cancer – was charming while filming, when the cameras were offhe was often cruel and crude.
As well as using bad language and making “disgusting jokes about how a woman smelled after sex”, Karen claims the Hollywood heartthrob would criticise her looks with crew members.
