7 things to do in Glasgow

1 Wander around the city

Start your exploration at Glasgow Cathedral (glasgowcathedral.org). Its gothic splendour and adjacent Necropolis offer an insight into the city’s historic origins. Or why not step aboard The Tall Ship: SV Glenlee (thetallship. com), an icon of Glasgow’s shipbuilding heritage. Built in 1896, the cargo ship circumnavigated the globe four times.

2 On the move

The city is home to a beguiling mix of the historic and the ultra modern. A bus tour (open top if you dare) is the best way to get a feel for Scotland’s sprawling largest city – they leave from the Georgian splendour of George Square (citysightseeingglasgow.co.uk). With 21 stops, you can hop on and off to visit some of the city’s best attractions. Reopening from 21 March 2021.
