‘She's ready to BUST SOME BALLS!'

Mother of God, she’s back! After a serious telling-off from DCC Andrea Wise during Line of Duty’s series five finale, there’s no doubting that DCS Patricia Carmichael is a woman with an axe to grind – which can’t be good news for poor Supt Ted Hastings.

We’ve already seen Pat cause terror amongst the staff at AC-12 – while barely raising her voice above a whisper – telling them during their first meeting, ‘For those of you who, for whatever inexplicable reason, don’t know, I am Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael. I don’t mind “ma’am” or “boss”, I am not a big fan of “governor” or “gaffer”.’

Anna Maxwell Martin, who plays the straight-talking officer, insists there’s more where that came from, saying, ‘Pat’s back. I can’t remember what she’s doing there, nor would I be allowed to blab, but suffice to say she’s got some new clobber and she’s ready to bust some balls.’
