Hydrate the right way
While diet drinks may be better for our waistlines, they can cause problems in the bedroom. ‘The artificial sweeteners used in diet drinks lower serotonin levels,’ says Mel Kirkpatrick from health specialist Testogen. ‘And low serotonin levels are linked to low libido – in both men and women.’ Opt for water instead. ‘Not drinking enough water can cause vaginal dryness,’ warns Oloni.
Try something new
Associating sex with having fun with your partner can make it something that you look forward to. ‘Couples can all too easily end up having Groundhog Day sex – same time, position and place every week,’ says lovehoney.co.uk sex expert Annabelle Knight. ‘Mix it up. Look up new sex positions on the internet. Write a brief description of each one on a piece of paper and put them in a jar. Pick one out each week and see how it livens up your libido.’
