Broadcaster Mary Lambie, has been a well-loved face and voice on New Zealand TV and radio for many years. But the Christchurch-born endurance sport enthusiast and mother of three is best known for her time on TVNZ’s Good Morning show, which she hosted for seven years from 1997. The Weekly catches up with Mary to reminisce about her TV hosting days and find out what she’s been up to.
Hello Mary, a cup of tea for you?
Yes, I only drink loose-leaf tea – although herbal is okay from a tea bag. I like to put the leaves straight into my cup, then pour in the water, then the milk. Jim (Mora, Mary’s husband) makes me a cup of tea like that every morning.
How are Jim and the kids?
They’re great. Grace, 18, has just finished high school, and has been doing summer school at university. The twins, Jack and Elizabeth, are 16, and going into their second-to-last year at high school.
