Christmas Culture
Where Dallas|November - December 2019
Dallas-Fort Worth is an area brimming with culture, from statues and sculptures, to art galleries and on down to street level, where creativity and imagination run free on city walls. Cultural institutions like museums run year-round, bringing the populace the best the city, state and the world have to offer, across a wide spectrum of media. When November and December roll around, holiday lights go up, the festive spirit grows and they join in on the holiday fun, like the places listed below.

THE WINSPEAR OPERA HOUSE

This is the home of the Dallas Opera, which puts on amazing shows during its season. When the opera breaks at the end of the year, the opera house gets festive. The DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular occupies the house Nov. 19, the Texas Ballet Theater presents “The Nutcracker” Nov. 29-Dec. 28, before the musical “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” lands Dec. 15.

THE GRAPEVINE VINTAGE RAILROAD

The railroad operates a 1920’s era Victorian train 10 months out of the year, with weekends in November and December reserved for the North Pole Express. The journey to the North Pole includes a stop at Reindeer Ridge, with cookies and a mug of Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk. Once inside Santa’s Workshop, guests are treated to a Broadway-style Christmas performance.
