Boston After Dark: Laugh it off

Jay Leno. Amy Poehler. Conan O’Brien. Mindy Kaling. Steve Carell. This city has churned out so many comedians, I often wonder if humor is embedded in the genetic code of Bostonians. It’s either that or the result of daily interactions with the city’s abundance of outrageous characters, from the “urban outdoorsman” on Newbury Street who freestyles songs about passersby, to the 75-year-old man in full disco attire who has spent every waking moment since 1985 at dive bar Daisy Buchanan’s. Nature or nurture, one thing’s for sure: we’re funny here.
