Why Horseshoes Bring Good Fortune To Panjim
Planet Goa|Volume 9 Issue 5

Since 1980, Ferradura or Horseshoe has made itself a part of the culinary landscape in the quaint neighbourhood of Fontainhas, sitting on bank of the Rua de Ourem creek.

Why Horseshoes Bring Good Fortune To Panjim

I ’VE often wondered what it is that makes Goa such a delightful ‘retreat’ for many who travel from the more ‘urban scapes’ across India. My constant refrain to most is that it surely can’t just be the coast! If that were the case, a resident of Mumbai would surely take an Uber to Juhu rather than go through the laborious efforts of making it to say (hypothetically) Mandrem. It is my firm belief that there is a Goan way of life so intricately woven in our day to day affairs that we often, as residents of the blessed space, tend to overlook it. It is intangible; it’s like that mythical creature, which if you for long enough, vanishes into thin air as though it was never there to begin with. However, for those who travel from afar for the promise that is this joie-de-vivre, this phenomenon is very much obvious, and is something worth discovering, as it can definitely be alluded to as one of those life-altering experiences…such is the spell that Goa binds upon its visitors, many of whom choose to make the place their home.
