NATIVE AT BROWNS

HAVING PREVIOUSLY DECAMPED TO A HARD -TO -REACH ISLAND, NATIVE IS BACK IN THE HEART OF THE CAPITAL, SERVING FOOD THAT’S AS PRETTY AS IT IS DELICIOUS
Samuel Muston
NATIVE AT BROWNS

Finding my way to Native at Browns is a challenge. Having arrived at its location — within the Browns Brook Street department store in London’s Mayfair — I have to navigate the ‘Trainer Gallery’, a long, curving space decorated solely in grey, with a carpet so thick you could comfortably bed down on it. Shoes costing around £400 are dotted about. There’s a hushed silence. I get lost on my first attempt. A helpful shop assistant rescues me when I accidentally walk into a fitting room.
