BACKGROUND
The Courtyard by Marriott brand was designed originally as a budget business hotel brand, but has now been adapted to attract both families and leisure guests. This hotel opened in November 2021.
WHERE IS IT?
In the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) just next door to OVO Hydra and SEC Armadillo, and the Exhibition Centre. The SEC is situated on the banks of the Clyde in what was once a thriving dockyard and ship-building area. The huge Finnieston Crane is one of the few original structures left and is a good landmark right opposite the hotel. From Glasgow airport it's an easy trip on First Bus service 500 from the airport to Central Station (about 15 minutes) and then two stops on the low-level train from Central Station to the Exhibition Centre. There is a covered walkway to the SEC and the hotel is just a few minutes' walk away. A combined ticket cost £7.40 single. Alternatively, a taxi takes about 20 minutes.
