Capcom’s Latest Delights In Making Satan SOB

Dave Meikleham
Devil May Cry 5

Do you have sharp knife skills in the kitchen? Are you the sort of budding chef who can julienne a carrot just by looking at it? If so, your ninja hands are going to shine in Capcom’s returning devil hunter. Dante’s long-awaited sequel isn’t just an action game that rewards rapier-sharp reactions, it demands the nimble fingers of a Michelin Star chef.

Gordon Ramsay may be able to swear up a storm, but his Hell’s Kitchen antics have nothing on the torment Dante and Nero serve up to their prey. As violent as it is stylish, Devil May Cry 5 relishes in combat that thrives on non-stop pacing. Fights come at you in a brutal blink. Fail to keep pace and a plethora of combos and criss-crossing disciplines, which span multiple weapons and fight styles, will overwhelm your digits.

Jettisoning the timeline and origin story of Ninja Theory’s polarising DmC, Capcom once again takes the wheel of Dante and Nero’s mobile demon agency. Not one for narrative elegance, it throws almost every character from the franchise’s 18-year history at the screen.

Nero to zero
