People who care about news are serious about the apps they use to read that news. Good luck converting a NetNewsWire user to Flipboard, or a Reeder fan to Apple News. That means if you want your app to do well in this sector, it needs to be really, really good. And, sadly, Views 4 isn’t.

Views was previously known as The Views News, and it was designed to quickly and attractively show you the top

news articles from around the world in an ad–free and login–free app. Views 4 has the same mission and adds podcasts to the mix. It claims to be “the best news app for iOS and macOS!”

There are some nice touches here. The interface is pretty, it’s easy to set up, and the reading experience is pleasant enough. But news apps live or die by the content they deliver, and Views 4 does not deliver.
