Retail Challenges
With the traditional POS systems, retailers come across challenges relating customer’s time in line (Checkout Queues), paper receipts for sales and returns, wastage of Store space by the POS registers and managing sudden influx of customers. Finding a solution for such challenges with the traditional POS systems has been pondering in the retail circle for a while.
For over a century, customers had to make their selection and purchase them at a fixed location register. As a result, customers end up in long queues, the presence of which can lead shoppers to defer purchases.
With more and more customers asking for paper-free receipt services, it becomes advantageous for the retailers to collect customer information while providing a requested service.
Customers coming in with different requests and demands, retailers become obliged to serve them as required. This ends up with utilization of store space for different counters like customer service, returns and predominantly sale. This space utilization becomes a major challenge for retailers.
Sudden customer influx was-is-and always will be a challenge that retailers face. Handling customers with limited space and lengthy queues poses a major problem in converting choice to sales.
