Ever since watching the first episode of Time Commanders on UK TV back in 2003, I’ve been fascinated with the Total War series; which was released a year later. I marveled at my troop arrangements, noted with pleasure how well placed my archers were and smiled gleefully at the many soldiers wielding pointy, sharp weapons. And in turn, I also wept at how an army tenth the size of mine and carrying wooden clubs still managed to beat the snot out of my highly trained Roman legions.
Let’s face it, most of us aren’t up to leading sizeable armies against hordes of unwashed barbarians. But through the Total War series, we lived, albeit briefly, the life of a commander of men. So it was with great anticipation that I loaded up the newest arrival in the series: Total War: ROME REMASTERED.
