Chillblast Fusion Ryzen 2700X Custom

VERDICT Stick to its intended purpose of photo and video editing, and this PC is as good as youll get without spending a lot more.

Chillblast Fusion Ryzen 2700X Custom

TO USE ITS full title, the Chillblast Fusion Ryzen 2700X Custom Video/Photo Editing PC might have fallen foul to a particularly Byzantine naming, but that doesn’t have to stop it being a good media editing system, a branch of PC design that’s somewhat under-served in the £1,000 to £2,000 bracket.

It certainly has the CPU for the job: AMD’s octa-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 2700X. It’s only running at stock clock speeds – a base speed of 3.7GHz with a boost up to 4.3GHz – but together with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, the Fusion Ryzen 2700X Custom put in some excellent performances in our 4K benchmarks.

Its image test score of 146 is good rather than great, but that’s only really indicative of single-core performance. What really impressed were the multithreaded video encoding and multitasking portions, in which Chillblast’s PC scored 284 and a superbly high 343 respectively. Overall, these give the Fusion Ryzen 2700X Custom a final score of 291.
