Indeed, though established players like Netflix must raise billions of dollars in debt to fuel their investment in new shows, Apple is able to attract the world’s top talent by flashing its checkbook - and it shows no signs of slowing down. Shows such as The Morning Show and For All Mankind have already been renewed for second seasons, despite the first season yet to be screened to the public. Why? Because it can, and because Apple has poached directors, writers, and stars from some of the most recognizable movies and TV shows, and it’s already onto a winner.
Shows such as Dickinson have already received rave reviews from critics and have been teased by major TV networks and movie theaters around the world ahead of their public release. Dickinson, which stars Pitch Perfect’s Hailee Steinfeld as America’s favorite reclusive poet, is a quirky period comedy series that will no doubt go down well amongst millennials, featuring curses and sex scenes, despite previous rumors suggesting Apple TV+ shows would be family-friendly.
