Ten years ago, when the Celtic Tiger was roaring, a project was mooted to build a much bigger harbour, with a marina, and 340 apartments in several blocks. Needless to say this didn’t go down well with everyone, but the project got started in spite of objections and a fine new harbour was built to a high standard. But before ground was broken for the apartments, the property market collapsed, and so did the project.
