JORDAN Clark knew he was taking a big step when he left home county Lancashire for Surrey last season but after two weeks at The Kia Oval he is already certain it was the right decision.
The 28-year-old all-rounder has spent much of the winter in the UAE working with Dougie Brown and Peter Kelly, and is preparing to return to Dubai with his new county for the upcoming pre-season tour.
For now though, the priority has been getting settled in at Surrey, something Clark has found very easy.
He explained: “It’s been really good so far and everything has gone really well. The lads have been really welcoming. I only really knew them through playing against them, although I did a Hong Kong Sixes trip with Rikki Clarke.
“But I’m already feeling really good here. It was a gut feeling, my decision to join. I’d always enjoyed playing against them and I’ve loved playing at the Oval. It’s a great coaching staff as well so it made a lot of sense.
“It was a very personal call to move, I’ve nothing but good things to say about Lancs, but I made this decision for me. I wish Lancs all the best and I’m still in touch with the lads, but I’m really happy here.”
Clark will get the chance to play alongside Morné Morkel after the South African’s sensational summer in 2018.
