Give Virat a platform to take on the opposition and he would grab the chance. The Asia Cup contest against Pakistan was mind-blowing. He left nothing to chance and gave the opposition no opportunity to back itself. There was resilience in his batting and a clear plan on how to go about the chase. He gave vent to his emotions at times but what impressed was his sustained attack. He was in the thick of action after India had lost Gautam Gambhir off the second ball of the innings. He did not wilt even as the pressure mounted, displaying a combination of aggression and dominance. He did nothing wrong and kept India in the hunt in the company of Sachin Tendulkar. It did not matter that he was not there to finish things off but there was never any doubt that he had grown enormously as a match-winner.
