If you were to ask any ardent fan of the Premier League, who the best player in the League is, then the most likely answer is going to be Eden Hazard of Chelsea. The Belgium star joined the London club in the summer of 2012 and has since been the best player in what many would describe as the best league in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are in a league of their own, but behind them there is a list of players to which the 26 year old belongs, and if he keeps on performing like he has been then it’s just a matter of time that his name is also taken in those parlances.

Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte deserves a lot of credit for how he has molded his team which now sits at the top of the Premier League, and the way he has handled influential players like Eden Hazard, who till now has played a pivotal role in his team’s success. If it wasn’t for Hazard, the team would not be anywhere close to where it is currently.

This season, after a terrible campaign last year, the former Lille man looks back to his finest. The Blues had a terrible season under Jose Mourinho last season and Hazard was one of the big name players who failed to show up. Hazard scored just four league goals in 31 appearances last season and the first of those came in April when there was nothing left to play or win. As they say form is temporary and class is permanent, the attacking midfielder is back to his blistering best. In the 24 games that he has played so far this season, Hazard has scored 10 goals and also has three assists to his name. The Belgian has played on the left side of the front three in a newly formed 3-4-3 formation and out shined almost every other player in the team and indeed in the league. He has brought out the best in Spaniard Diego Costa who is also back to his dominating best. Hazard has provided us with some of the more memorable moments this season and has scored in what could be the contender for the goal of the season against Arsenal. Hazard picked up the ball near the half way line and evaded the challenge of Francis Coquelin and the two central defenders to slot the ball past Petr Cech. So good was the goal that even Eden Hazard described it as one of the best goals he has ever scored.

This is what the Belgian had to say about it, “I score a few goals, a few beautiful goals, but this one is special. It’s against Arsenal and we won the game. This one is one of the best.”

Another goal of similar ilk was scored against Everton which tells us about the sheer quality the player has.
