Runner's World US|Issue 04, 2022
BECAUSE RUNNING IS a universal sport, you can find amazing racing opportunities all around the world. A destination race is a great option for your next A-race, or you can roll it into a bucket-list vacation.

Run Your Best at a Destination Race

Running the Berlin Marathon in 2017 was one of the highlights of my running career I got to show off my fitness after a long training block, and then I decompressed at Oktoberfest. Not a bad postrace party.

I recently chatted with RW+ member Jessee Urbaitis of Milwaukee, who is running the London Marathon in October and wanted to know what to expect for her first international race. Planning your own runcation? Steal these three tips from our talk.

Prioritize convenience

JESSEE // London is next up on my quest to run all six world marathon majors-I've already run Chicago and New York. What should I keep in mind when I'm planning for an overseas race? I know I'll be getting there on Saturday and racing Sunday.

Spring 2023 Shoe Awards

These shoes took a journey to get to you. As the final days of summer dwindled, we asked brands to show us their best in class. The leaves turned, snow fell, and our training calendars filled. We put more than 100 different models through their paces and considered each for a spot on these pages. After months of running and thousands of miles on the feet of our 280 wear-testers, the 25 here rose to the top. We evaluated them based on how each performed on the roads, trails, tracks, and racecourses with a focus on qualities like cushioning, flexibility, stability, and overall ride. This spring, the winners have arrived. And now you can finally meet them.

How to Make the Most of Your Prerun Coffee

LACE UP YOUR running shoes. Shake out your muscles. And down a mug of coffee. For some runners (pros included), having a cup of coffee before a run is a non-negotiable part of the routine-a ritual so embedded in the norm that a workout just wouldn't feel right without it.
