A Very Sorry State of Affairs

Let's get this straight from the very start, despite the content of this article, I DO NOT hold any kind of grudge against the club, nor do I spend my waking hours looking for misdeeds (real or alleged) which are carried out by the club. That said, nor am I willing to give the club Carte Blanche, to act as they see fit, regardless of how much FSG or anyone else presumes to invest in the club. It is still ours, because, over the years, no matter how much they purport to put into the club, it still doesn't match the amount the fans have put in over the years of following the club home and away.

I'm not so sure that during the darkest days in the clubs history, back in 1989, they could have conducted themselves with any greater dignity, nor am I certain that any other club could have acted in the same manner, the way they made themselves available but also at the same time managed to keep out of the way. All of this (or certainly the bulk of it) carried out in a dignified, professional manner, but without any kind of fanfare and nearly always out of the glare of the media. By the same token though, they could do with conducting themselves with a bit more decorum over non-football matters - or to be more precise, indirect actions off the field.

I took it upon myself at the end of last season to ignore anything to do with transfer activity this summer until I see the player in question with the usual scarf above head pose with hopefully a beaming Jürgen alongside.
