IT SEEMS TO us that there’s a bit of a funny trend in mountain biking at the moment. On one hand, thanks to mega-range drivetrains and clever suspension tech, trail bikes are more all round capable than ever before and even an averagely fit rider can conquer most climbs fairly easily. But on the flipside, bike parks and uplift days have never been more popular. Is this simply a sign that downhill ain’t dead? Or are we just getting lazy and wanting to find the easiest way to the top?
