Korda Survives Late Triple Bogey To Triumph In Playoff
PELICAN WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

World number one Nelly Korda shook off a triple bogey at the penultimate hole, closing regulation with a birdie and winning the LPGA Pelican Women’s Championship with a birdie at the first hole of a four-way playoff.

Olympic gold medallist Korda notched her fourth LPGA Tour victory of the season, but in a way that no one saw coming.

She dueled all day with Lexi Thompson, falling two shots back with her triple bogey seven at the 17th at Pelican Golf Club in Florida, then responded with a birdie at the 72nd hole for a one-under 69 that was enough to put her into a playoff after Thompson closed with backto-back bogeys in her own 69.
