The Under-18s boss has been forced to cope with an injury crisis since the turn of the year, with the number of players unavailable reaching double figures ahead of their trip to the West Midlands.
It meant 16-year-olds Korede Adedoyin and Michael Collins both started the game, while Elliot Richards, just 15, came off the bench to help see out the result.
The Toffees came racing out of the blocks against the Baggies and took a deserved lead on 15 minutes as Jack Kiersey opened the scoring with a tidy low finish.
