Jasprit Bumrah has to be the most impactful Indian pace bowler since Kapil Dev. I don’t mean just on results which are admirable enough across all three formats but the manner in which his bowling is analyzed, bisected and dissected from his short run-up to the unusual action to his ability to bowl yorkers almost at will. Of course, even bowlers like Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, and Ishant Sharma attracted considerable attention when they burst upon the scene in the 90s and the first decade of the new millennium. But surely no one has drawn so much attention as this 26-year-old Ahmedabad born paceman as far as various aspects of his bowling are concerned.
