The 2021 edition of the Premier League was postponed midway in May after players and staff were impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. However, the BCCI chalked out a schedule to see the remainder of the tournament be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). One can note that the 2020 edition of the IPL was also held in the UAE after COVID-19 jolted the sport. The IPL is set to start on September 19 with Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians locking horns. Notably, the grounds in UAE are relatively smaller in size and six-hitting can be a regular factor. The likes of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai will play host to the eight teams. Last season, the IPL in UAE was lit with boundaries. As many as 10 batters went on to smash 20-plus sixes in the season. Mumbai Indians' Ishan Kishan topped the show with 30 sixes to his name. Sanju Samson (26), Hardik Pandya, Nicolas Pooran (25 each) weren't far behind. Each of these batsmen had terrific strike rates as well to show how much they enjoyed themselves on the pitches in UAE. Now coming to the 2021 edition, several batters will be aiming to gain a hold in terms of hitting sixes. There are several top-notch entertainers who can go on to get the job done for their respective teams.
