West Indies and Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsman Nicholas Pooran has pledged to donate a portion of his IPL salary to India for the fight against COVID-19. The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has already seen a handful of players leaving for their respective countries due to the huge spike in the number of coronavirus cases. Pooran shared a video on his social media account where he announced his decision to financially extend his help. “To all my fans and supporters around the world and back home, I realise I am in a safe and privileged position here in India at the IPL. But it is also heartbreaking to be so close to such tragedy that’s unfolded around us,” he said in the video.
IRFAN REVEALS WEEKNESS
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), despite posting a mammoth total of 218/4, suffered a disappointing defeat against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI). This defeat also ended a run of 5 unbeaten games for the MS Dhoni-led side. Kieron Pollard’s 34-ball 87 allowed Mumbai Indians (MI) to post a famous win over the three-time champions. And, former Indian and CSK allrounder, Irfan Pathan, has opened up on the bowling attack that is at the disposal of the team. Pathan opined that even though the Mumbai Indians (MI) batted well, there was some below-par bowling performance on the show for CSK. He further added that the Chennai side does not have any bowler who can bowl yorkers.
