KL Rahul made his much-awaited return to India's Test side as BCCI announced the squads for the upcoming tour of Australia on Monday. He was dropped from the Test side in August 2019, following his poor run with the bat. He was not a part of India's Test squad for the series against New Zealand, earlier this year, and only featured in the limited-over formats -- ODI and T20I. However, owing to his impressive performances with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Rahul has forced his way back into the Test squad for the tour Down Under.

Apart from making a return to the Test squad, KL Rahul has been named vice-captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma, and first choice wicket-keeper in both T20Is and ODIs as Rishabh Pant was dropped from the team.
