We spent a year with the Specialized Turbo S commuter e-bike and were left with a conundrum... is it really cycling?
Is it cycling, or just a great way to commute? The Specialized Turbo S – our long-term-test electric bike – left us pondering this question, after Specialized South Africa invited us to ride it over 12 months and give them our impressions.
During the year we used the bike for all manner of ‘getting around’ – from commuting to home (12km, for me) in work clothes without raising a sweat, to hopping on the bike and heading out to meetings close by. We even asked a few of our readers to give the bike a go and give us their thoughts.
What become a theme was how easy the bike was to ride; and consequently, whether it really qualifies as cycling?
